Making herself comfortable with items that came from the sunken ship….and keeping the decaying body of an unfortunate sailor boy close…
Made with Painter X except for a few color tweaks in PsCs. The only ref image I used was for the right hand which actually gave me most the trouble. Time taken: too much…
and too many details, but it was such a challenge and so much fun to visualize the structure and texture of the variety of items and characters in this scene…..…

The Carnivorous Sundew Fairy

Hair strands group together to form the sundew like tentacles with sticky fluid drops at the tip. It attract various insects but not fairies She catches them by throwing a few sticky strings of her hair towards them and simultaneously tries to hit them with drops of sundew fluid which knocks them to the ground and helps to digest various body parts and also gives it a nice sweet flavour. Impatiently biting her lip.

This painting started as a personal journey into Photoshop digital painting. And it became an obsession.

I'd like to say thanks to all the people who gave me those wonderful enthusiastic, encouraging and helpful comments in the

The swamp witch

The swamp witch collects fairies for fun and keeps them on a little piece of rope around her neck. But fairies are not always an easy catch…

Could have increased the details of the owl and perhaps should have introduced a large number of bats in the background……. All done in Photoshop.
Hope you like it

Nelumbo nucifera or Just a fairytale …

I finally finished this painting I started many months ago. The whole scene started with this medusa, her dress and the sacred lotus flower. An imaginative story about the meeting of medusa and a water nymph who tries to persuade her ( using the magic of the flower) to come closer to the edge of the water (sinister intensions.. no doubt ) somewhere in a forest far far away. The waternymph is trying to mimic the medusa to make her less suspicious. Seeing beyond the masquerade of what appears to be just a beautifully dressed woman, she takes on the appearance of a horrible creature….
Initial sketching and design was done in Painter. When it was halfway done I imported it into Photoshop and never went back. I hope you like it.
They compensate for their lack of fighting skills by wearing extravagant battle dresses to discourage and scare away any villains, hopefully without a fight.
All done in Painter IX. (Photoshop was used only for some minor color tuning.)
